Etalex was formed through the fusion of three Canadian companies, Boni Equipment, Forma Fil and Etalex. With more than 550 employees across its three plants in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville and Anjou, Etalex has been providing retail gondola shelving and industrial racking solutions to the North-American market since 1966.

History

Etalex through the years

1966

Foundation of Etalex

Etalex is founded by Ludger D’Amour under the name L. D’Amour Inc.

1974

Foundation of Boni Equipement

Boni Equipement is founded in 1974 in Longueuil, Quebec.

1979

Jacques Majeau becomes owner

Mr. Jacques Majeau buys the shares of Mr. D’Amour and becomes the sole owner of the company.

1982

Purchase of Boni Equipement

Mr. Majeau purchases Boni Equipement, a competitor of Etalex. A few months later, the name L. D’amour is changed to Etalex.

1989

Purchase of Forma Fil

Mister Majeau buys Forma Fil, a manufacturer of decking and wire mesh.

1995

The SJM Group is born

Foundation of the SJM Group, under which Forma Fil, Boni Equipement and Etalex operate.

2021

The companies change name to become Etalex

With the launch of a new logo and corporate brand, Forma Fil, Etalex and Boni Equipement are all united under one company name: Etalex

Thierry Lachapelle

President

With a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in marketing, Mr. Lachapelle has accumulated more than 20 years in the management and direction of manufacturing companies of international scale. A member of the Etalex Board of Directors since 2019, he was appointed President in 2023.

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Campeau is a seasoned senior executive with extensive experience in medium and large-sized companies. His impressive career includes key leadership roles where he has demonstrated his ability to drive successful transformations within the finance function. He brings proven expertise in optimizing financial processes, implementing innovative technologies such as ERP systems, and creating agile and efficient financial structures.

Josée Grilli, CHRA CHRP

Vice-President, Talent & culture

With more than 25 years of experience, mainly in the manufacturing sector, occupying management roles in all areas of human resources, Mrs. Grilli has developed expertise, particularly in change management, mergers and acquisitions, business integration and restructuring, as well as health and safety. She has been a member of Etalex’s management team since August 2022.

Vincent Ouellette

A member of the Etalex team since 2017, Mr. Ouellette has more than 19 years of experience in commercial fixtures and store layouts. Appreciated by both his colleagues and his clients, Mr. Ouellette relies on his extensive experience in the field to go beyond his clients’ objectives and reach the desired results.

Benoit Pouliot

National Sales Manager - Industrial

Recognized in the field of industrial warehousing for his management of large-scale projects, from design to completion, Mr. Pouliot has developed in-depth technical knowledge, both in terms of warehousing systems but also his clients’ operations, during his 26-year career. He has been National Director of Industrial Sales at Etalex for over 14 years.

A seasoned manager with over 30 years of experience in operations management, including continuous improvement, supply chain, quality control and labor relations, Mr. Champagne brings invaluable expertise to the Etalex operations team.

Our certifications

Etalex is a long-time member of the RMI and received the R mark certification through a process administered by the RMI and a panel of professional engineers confirming that Etalex meets all regulations, safety factors and capacity. Our R-Mark certification ensures our clients that our racking systems meet the highest standards in compliance with the RMI Specification.

The CWB Group certifies companies, inspection organizations, inspectors, and welding consumables through a review and qualification process to ensure that they meet the requirements for a variety of product and safety codes as well as standards such as CSA W47.1CSA W47.2CSA W55.3CSA W186CSA W178.1CSA W178.2 and CSA W48.

Our causes

Causes we believe in

We are proud to support the following causes as they work to improve our communities.

The mission of the Fondation Charles-Bruneau is to give all children with cancer the best chances of recovery by financing research and supporting the development of pediatric oncology projects.

The LDT Foundation believes that physical activity and creativity are both fundamental to children’s development and educational success.

It organizes turnkey events that encourage balance between sports, arts and studies, with a particular focus on third cycle elementary students.

The Fondation Tel-jeunes was established in 2010 to financially support Tel-jeunes and LigneParents services and ensure their continuity.

Created in 1981 and 1991 respectively, LigneParents and Tel-jeunes are free and confidential advocacy services. These services, intended for youth and parents across Quebec, are provided by professionals and available at all times.
